MS Dhoni

The former Indian skipper in all likelihood will be playing his last bilateral tour of England. Dhoni who recently turned 37 is one of the finest limited overs batsmen of all time. It was just in the previous encounter that Dhoni became the 4th Indian and 12th overall to score more than 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. He is a legend in all aspects.

However, in the recent times, his finishing touch has diminished quite a bit. However, he still remains an integral part of the Indian limited overs set-up and will be a key member for the 2019 World Cup scheduled to be played in England itself.

Suresh Raina

The southpaw was recalled back to the ODI squad after almost 3 years. He batted brilliantly in the domestic circuit which paved a way for yet another India recall. Over the years, Raina has one of the most reliable limited overs batsmen for India.

He has looked in good touch during the tour so far. However, he has not been able to convert his starts into big ones. Raina is currently 31 years of age. With several youngsters coming up the ranks, it will be highly unlikely that Raina will be part of the India which will tour England the next time around.

Dinesh Karthik

He is the 2nd wicket-keeper in the limited overs series behind Dhoni. Karthik has played just a solitary T20I against Ireland in the UK bound tour so far. In the presence of Dhoni, he hasn’t got any opportunities in the tour of England so far.

However, he is a feasible option for Virat Kohli in the series decider which is slated to be held later today. Karthik is a stylish batsman and has been part of the Indian squad which has toured England before. He might well stay back for the Test series as a cover for Wriddhiman Saha. Given his batting skills, Karthik might be a good option.

Murali Vijay

The right-handed opener will be one of the first choice openers for India when the tw teams lock horns in the 5 match Test series. Vijay has been a prolific run scorer in the longest format of the game and has emerged as one of the finest modern day top order batsman in Tests. In the last tour of England, Vikay struck a fantastic century in the opening Test.

He is 34 years currently and in all likelihood won’t be touring England again. He is currently not in England and will join the team ahead of the Test series. Vijay has played some wonderful knocks in overseas conditions and will be an important member for the Test series.

Shikhar Dhawan

The swashbuckling southpaw has played some special limited overs knock in England. He was quite brilliant in the 2013 and 2017 Champions Trophy. Both the tournament was played in England. The southpaw has looked in great touch through the limited overs series so far. However, he has not been able to convert his starts into big ones.

Dhawan is currently 32 and might not be touring England the next time around. He will play a key role if India harbour hopes of winning the ODI series. He might not be a regular feature in the Test series given his struggles in swinging conditions.
