Indian cricket team’s skipper Virat Kohli is widely recognized as one of the best batsmen in contemporary cricket. He is a run-machine, having a free-flowing ability to score runs consistently no matter the situation. Due to this ability, Kohli has been able to break various records and create many of his own.
The 31-year-old Kohli has numerous records to his name. However, like any ambitious player, Kohli is not looking to rest on his laurels.
Even at his age, the Indian skipper is putting in incredible amounts of hard work to stay fit and remain at the top of his game.
Although, despite his surreal talent, there are some cricketing records that even a genius like Kohli will not be able to break.
Here are seven records that Virat Kohli can never break:
Most runs in international cricket

Talking about active cricketers, Virat Kohli has the highest number of runs when we combine all three formats, however, he still has a lot of ground to make up, when we consider overall records in international cricket.
The ‘God of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for most runs scored overall, as he racked up 34,357 runs across all formats.
Kohli though has only managed to score 21,901 runs in his career so far. Having already crossed the 30s, the current Indian skipper still trails ‘Master Blaster’ but 12,456 runs, which is a huge gap, to say, the least.
Therefore, this is among the records that Kohli can never break possibly.
Highest average in Test cricket

The star of Virat Kohli has been shining not just in limited-overs, but he has been equally as lethal, in the purest format of cricket as well. He has played a total of 86 Test matches for India in his illustrious career so far, wherein he has a batting average of 53.56, that is impressive by all means.
However, former Australian legend Sir Don Bradman has an impeccable average of 99.96 in Test cricket, which needless to say, is the best in cricketing history.
So no matter how hard the Delhi-born player tries, this is yet another one of those records that Kohli can never break.
Hitting three double-centuries in ODI cricket

ODI format is one of the favourites of Virat Kohli, as evident from stats, he has scored more than 11 thousand runs in international cricket in ODIs. The star batsman played some really memorable knocks in the 50-overs format down the years, but so far, he has never been able to score a double century.
Despite coming out to bat at number three, Kohli has never been able to cross the magical number. On the other hand, his compatriot, Rohit Sharma has done so not once, or twice, but on three occasions.
While both of them are renowned for their aggressive batting style, it seems highly unlikely that the Indian skipper will hit a double century someday.
Most sixes in Test cricket

Yet another feat that we doubt Virat Kohli will never be able to match is the record of most sixes in Test cricket. While the longer format does test a batsman’s patience, various such players created records by their aggressive batting in the purest format.
Former New Zealand??skipper Brendon McCullum holds a similar feat, having scored the most number of sixes in Test cricket history, 107, to be precise.
The Indian skipper meanwhile, in his 86 appearances has hit a paltry 22 sixes, and therefore this is yet another record that Kohli can never break.
Most appearances in Test cricket history

In the gentleman’s game, playing Test cricket is a privilege in itself for any player, because it’s considered the purest format.
There are various players who have more than 100 appearances in Test cricket, and then there is Sachin Tendulkar who has played 200 Test matches.
It’s a milestone that Sachin achieved in his career, and because of the age factor, certainly, this is yet another record Kohli can never break, because he’s 31 already, and the right-handed batsman has only played 86 Tests so far.
Fastest century in ODI cricket

While Virat Kohli has achieved legendary status in ODI cricket, having scored more than half of his international runs in the 50-0vers format, there are certain records that he will never be able to better.
One such feat is AB de Villiers record of hitting a century in 31 balls in ODI cricket. While Kohli has scored a century in 51 balls previously, this is another record that will most likely stay unconquered.
Most centuries in T20I cricket

The Indian skipper is well renowned for playing all three formats with equal dedication. However, due to the nature of T20I cricket, Kohli has a knack of hitting explosive knocks in the shortest format. This is why he has most international runs in T20I cricket.
Having said that though, all these runs have come without a single century.
Yes, for all his plaudits, the Delhi-born player has failed to score a ton in T20I format so far, while Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, has hit four centuries already.
With age catching up on both, Virat may be able to break the jinx and score a century, but we certainly can’t see him hitting four and equalling Rohit’s feat.
