Especially, bilateral series are all about the rivalry between both the nations either on National terms or on the field. In order to continue it on a regular basis, all the cricketing boards came up with a few trophies, which gained huge popularity among the fans. 9. Border-Gavaskar Trophy:

It is the series, which will be played between India and Australia. It has always got a special attraction, as the fans would love to see the cracking action between both the nations. The series will be played twice for every four years, which brings huge crowd to the stadium.
The trophy is named after Sunil Gavaskar and Allan Border, who have been legendary cricketers for their respective countries.

The first series of the Border Gavaskar trophy was played in 1996-97 with India, the hosts winning it 1-0. India and Australia have enjoyed great success over the years.
8. The Pataudi Trophy:

It has been a brilliant cup overs the years for the fans. Whenever the Indian National Cricket Team locked horns with England Cricket Team, it has always been a scintillating contest in the middle for the fans. They have enjoyed the rivalry, as their are few sensational moments registered when the duo locked horns.
The trophy itself was designed and made by Jocelyn Burton and is named after the Pataudi cricketing family. It was first awarded in 2007 to commemorate the 75 years since the first Test match between the two sides.

Here comes yet another series that involve the Indian National Cricket Team. In this series, they lock horns with South African team, who always have been at their best during the series. Besides having it’s own name, the respective boards also named it as “Freedom Series”.
The first Gandhi Mandela series was played in October last year when South Africa came to India for a 72 day long tour. Since then, the duo showed their calibre in home series.
6. Basil D’ Oliveira:

Though the name is relatively new to the Indian fans, it has got it’s importance in the game of cricket. The series will be played between South Africa and England, who always puts their best game in the middle.
The trophy is named afterBasil D’Oliveira, a South African born English Test cricketer whose presence in the English squad to tour South Africa in 1968-69 led to the cancellation of the tour. It was for the objections from South African authorities due to D’Oliveira’s classification as “coloured”.
5. Chappell-Hadlee Trophy:

The series marks the rivalry between two rival nations Australia and New Zealand. The series will be played annually as three or five-match series. It was started 12 years ago when both the teams met in longer version of the game.
It is named after legendary cricketing families from the two countries, the Chappell brothers (Ian, Gregory, and Trevor) of Australia and Walter Hadlee and his three sons (Barry, Dayle and Sir Richard), of New Zealand.
4. Wisden Trophy:

It is one of the most prestigious series in the world cricket, which will be played between England Cricket Team and West Indies cricket team.
It was first awarded in 1963 to commemorate the 100th edition of Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack. The trophy is named after the famous cricketing publisher Wisden.
The legendary Brian Lara and Curtly Ambrose still hold prime records of this trophy.
3. Shane Warne- Muralitharan Trophy:

Two classic spinners of all-time, Shane Warne and Muralitharan has always been icons of Australia and Sri Lanka. Marking their glorious achievements, the cricketing boards of both the countries inaugurated a trophy named after them.
The trophy features casts of the two bowlers’ right hands and match-used cricket balls bowled by them during their careers.

The trophy is named after the former West Indies captain Sir Frank Worrell, and was first awarded at the end of the 1960–61 series.
The trophy will be played between West Indies and Australia. The duo has always involved on scintillating affairs.
