Aakash Chopra, former India, and Kolkata Knight Riders cricketer feels that Eoin Morgan should lead from the front by slotting himself higher in the batting order.

Kolkata Knight Riders have been the most inconsistent team in the IPL thus far. After having shellacked Delhi Capitals by 59 runs, they lost their game against KXIP quite comfortably and the rejigs in the batting order, especially Eoin Morgan’s position was once again in the spotlight.

“KKR lost their last match after winning the match prior to that convincingly. But with the fluctuations that are happening, the extreme highs and lows, then you start wondering what needs to be done.” Aakash Chopra said on his Youtube show.

Chopra further added that KKR might face a selection dilemma if all-rounder Andre Russell is fit for the all-important game against CSK.

“They played Morgan, Narine, Cummins, and Ferguson as the four overseas players in the last match. If Andre Russell is fit for this match, whom will you play him for. I don’t think KKR will have the answer for that but not playing Andre Russell will be a travesty,” he added.

Pointing to the constant upheaval that is going on in KKR’s batting line-up, Aakash Chopra said that being an in-form batsman, Eoin Morgan should slot himself at the No.4 spot.

“There is a slight upheaval going on in their batting order, sending anyone ahead and anyone down the order. I hope that gets settled.” he added.

”Morgan has to bat higher up the order. He is the captain and is in good form. He is sending everyone up the order and himself coming at the end. He cannot be the last batsman in the batting lineup, he has to be in the latest by No.4. I am expecting Morgan to lead from the front.” Aakash Chopra said.

On KKR’s all-important clash against CSK, Aakash Chopra reckoned it to be a good contest before adding that the Super Kings might prove to be ‘everyone’s party pooper.

“This should be a good contest because KKR have put their foot on a potential banana skin and CSK could be the team who can become everyone’s party pooper.” he added.
