In the wake of the recent injury setbacks suffered by Team India, former India opener Aakash Chopra has questioned the team???s busy schedule. On Monday, India suffered a big blow as Rohit Sharma was ruled out of the upcoming ODI and Test series against New Zealand with a calf injury.
The right-handed batsman suffered the injury during the fifth and final T20I against New Zealand on Sunday. He was batting on 60 when he injured his calf and went off the field. Before Rohit, Shikhar Dhawan was also ruled out of the tour after injuring his shoulder during the ODI series against Australia last month.
But Aakash Chopra was pointing out to the injuries that have occurred due to too much workload. He mentioned the likes Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma to back his claim. Aakash Chopra stated that all of the injuries occurred due to workload before asking whether India are playing too much international cricket.
???Pandya, Bhuvi, Chahar, Bumrah and Rohit???.five of India???s KEY players have been injured in the last 8-10months. (Not counting Dhawan because of the freak nature of his injuries) Reasonably serious and workload related injuries. Is India playing too much International cricket?,??? he wrote on Twitter.

After missing the home series against South Africa and Bangladesh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar returned to action during the T20I series against West Indies before being ruled out of action after the three T20Is. There is still no clarity over when will he return to action.
On the other hand, Hardik Pandya has not played for India since the T20I series against South Africa due to a back injury which has been troubling him since 2018 Asia Cup. Jasprit Bumrah missed the entire home season in the second half of 2019 before returning to action last month while Deepak Chahar is also sidelined for a lengthy spell of time.
