Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra has praised Kalra’s shot making and also added that the left-handed resembles some of the former Indian cricketers.

Chopra said:

“Kalra played a heart-winning knock in the final of the World Cup final. A very talented left handed batsman. The most special thing in him is that he reminds me of a lot of players. I remember, he played a shot straight over the bowlers head off a full toss, I was talking to Kapil Paaji, he saw the shot and said, ‘This is Yuvraj’. He has the glimpses of Yuvraj.”

“When he plays a shot over mid-off, he resembles Shikhar Dhawan and then has glimpses of Suresh Raina when he plays a shot over the cover region. This guy is reminding us of a lot of players.”

“You can expect his name to do the rounds in the coming years. However, there’s still a long way to go.”
