AB de Villiers featured in the 3TC and proved that he has still not lost touch. There were talks about de Villiers making international return after he expressed his desire to make a comeback ahead of the 2019 World Cup. But his comeback ahead of the World Cup was blocked as the South Africa squad was already selected.

Later South Africa head coach Mark Boucher had said that players who want to make a comeback should make themselves available. However, with the COVID-19 situation, the plans have been effected and de Villiers is playing a waited game on his comeback. He had said that he will decide his future depending on his IPL 2020 performance.

Aakash Chopra has however said that AB de Villiers still looks in good form and his comeback has been facilitated. He also said that the former South Africa will be playing international cricket in due course.

“ABD’s form is still very good. His whole comeback has been facilitated. Sooner than later, you will see him playing again. If the T20 World Cup happens this year, you can see him (playing for South Africa) this year, or if it happens in 2021, then next year. I don’t think there is any problem,” Chopra said.

“ABD, no doubt, he will be playing international cricket sooner than later.”

De Villiers made his large international appearance in 2018.
