Afghanistan Deserved to Win Against Bangladesh: Shahid Afridi

Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi maintained far-improved Afghanistan deserved to win against depleted-looking Bangladesh. In fact, the Afghan team was able to clean sweep the Tigers in the three-match Twenty20 International series in Dehradun.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan was able to win the first two matches convincingly. However, they were able to win the third and final match by a one-run owing to a nerve-jangling encounter.
Asghar Stanikzai led team won the first match by a massive margin of 45 runs while they went on to win the second match by six wickets.
Dominating performance from Afghanistan:
Afghanistan talismanic spinner Rashid Khan was right on the money with his variations. The mystery spinner was able to continue to weave his magic following decent Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Thus, Rashid bagged the Man of the Series award by scalping eight wickets in three matches.
Consequently, Rashid remains at the top of the bowlers’ rankings in the shortest format of the game. Mohammad Nabi jumped eleven places to claim the eight place in the latest ICC T20I bowlers rankings. Nabi takes the second place in the all-rounder’s rankings.
It was dominating performance from the Afghanistan team. Thus, it is great to note their growth in International cricket, especially in the T20I form.
Afghanistan will now take on India in the historic Test match from June 14 in Bengaluru. Thus, the Afghan team will like to carry on their limited-overs form in the red-ball circuit.
Pakistan’s Army General took to Twitter to congratulate the Afghanistan team.
Asif Ghafoor post read as, “Congrats to Afghan Cricket Team on winning T20 series against Bangladesh. Well played”.
