Afghanistan Cricketer Najeeb Tarakai In Coma After Fatal Road Accident

Afghanistan cricketer Najeeb Tarakai is in coma since last 22 hours after being involved in a fatal car accident. The shocking development was brought to fore by ex-Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) media manager M.Ibrahim Momand via a tweet. Tarakai is under constant surveillance of the medical staffs.

The 29-year-old met with the accident in Jalalabad city. He was reportedly hit by a car and then brought to a nearby hospital. According to the tweet from Momand, he has not moved since the past 22 hours after head injury.

“It’s has been 22 hours now since a deadly accident but national cricketer  @Najibtaraki78 is unmoved & still in coma despite head injury. He reportedly hit by a car in Jalalabad city. fans asking @ACBofficials to facilitate shifting him to Kabul or neighbor countries hospitals,” he tweeted.

Considering his situation, fans have asked the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to shift him to better medical facility in Kabul or some other country.

Tarakai has represented Afghanistan in only one One-Day International (ODI) and 12 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). The opening batsman has scored 258 runs in the shortest format at an average over 21.
