Former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum said the all the good things come to an end after been ignored in the IPL 2019 Auction. McCullum had set his base price at INR 2 Crores. However, he was overlooked by all the franchises after been released by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Meanwhile, Brendon McCullum has had some memorable moments while playing in the IPL.

He had lite up the inaugural match of the Indian Premier League when he had scored an unbeaten knock of 158 runs off just 73 balls for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Thus, the opening match of the IPL is always remembered for the prolific brilliance of McCullum.

McCullum was ignored in IPL 2019 Auction.

“That’s the way things go sometimes. I’ve been very lucky, I’ve had 11 seasons in the IPL and at some stage, you need to transition away from the playing stuff,” McCullum told Radio Sport, as reported by tvnz.co.nz.

“All good things must come to an end, and I was very delighted to see some of the Kiwi boys got picked up. I’m certainly not too worried about it; it’s the way the game goes sometimes. I certainly wish the other boys all the best and you never know, you just never know what might unfold in the future,” he added.

The talisman right-hander has scored 1033 runs in the 33 innings in 2018. He has scored his runs at an average of 24.79 whereas he has scored his runs at a strike rate of 127.37. Thus, he was overlooked in the IPL.

On the other hand, Brendon McCullum is currently playing for Brisbane Heat in the ongoing Big Bash League. McCullum has had some great memories while playing in the IPL which he is going to hold close to his heart.

McCullum played 109 IPL matches in which he scored 2880 runs at an average 27.69 and strike rate of 131.75.
