England top-order batsman Dawid Malan, who has further shown his promise with the bat in the ongoing Magellan Ashes series, feels England is supposed to deliver in the remainder of the traditional Test series with the fourth Test scheduled on the Boxing Day (December 26) at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Ahead of the fourth Test, the 30-year-old Roehampton-born Malan suggests his teammate’s fire against the hosts after going down in the five-match series 3-0 which subsequently saw the relatively bleak-looking Three Lions losing out the Urn in Perth.
“I personally believe we need to be aggressive with these guys as they are with us,” Malan was quoted as saying by Sydney.

While talking to the journalists in Melbourne, Malan made it clear by saying players are supposed to give their best across all the departments in a bid to challenge the Kangaroos while reiterating it has been a learning curve for him.
“I think batting, bowling or fielding we have to be aggressive. One little mistake out here, and these guys seem to pounce on it,” Malan maintained.
With formidable Australia already reclaiming the series, Malan wants his side to flourish in the dead rubbers as the Ashes Test campaign will conclude with the Sydney fixture in which is scheduled to commence from January 4 (2018).
Known for his batting prowess, the left-handed batsman Malan has been in prolific form with the bat on the Australian soil which further saw him amassing 302 runs in six Test innings at an average of 50.33.
Malan further stated Australia has somewhat dominated his national side while adding the hosts require a single opportunity to tighten the grip.
“If you ever take your foot off the gas with these blokes, they seem to really dominate,” Malan added.

While reminiscing about first three Test fixtures, Malan feels England was right into the game while having the crucial moments in their favour, particularly in the series opener at Gabba in Brisbane, adding the session or so had blown away his side.
“You can look back at all three Test matches and say we were in the driving seat. It’s just those crucial moments – one session a game we’ve lost and just fallen away,” Malan asserted.
It’s is pertinent to mention, Malan smashed 140 at WACA while joining the national fold which saw him playing just eight Test fixtures till date since June 2017.
Having the quality time in nets, Malan believes the strong mental approach has done wonders which subsequently depends on a professional how he perceives it.
“You have to be mentally strong. It is a tough place, but it is as tough as you make it,” Malan remarked.
Hapless England is hoping against hope to give their best in a bid to avoid the whitewash, as Malan, who urges his teammates to improve their game, was thoroughly disappointed with the way they have performed so far in the ongoing Test series.
“It is disappointing we’ve got nothing to play for in terms of the Ashes but the pride of our players will want to make this 3-2 and we want to show we can perform out here,” Malan concluded.
