Ashes 2023: Stuart Broad Sledges David Warner While Fielding After Failing To Dismiss Him In Second Innings At Edgbaston

Three innings of the ongoing first Test of the Ashes 2023 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham has been done and dusted and the game hangs in pretty much balance with both the teams going neck to neck with each other. 

England were bundled out 273 runs in their second innings and Australia has been given a target of 280 runs to chase. The battle between Stuart Broad and David Warner was expected to be one of the highlights of the innings.

Stuart Broad, who as removed David Warner in the first innings, bowled some tight lines and lengths. But this time the batter emerged to be on the top as he survived an entire spell of him and played some magnificent shots as well. He stitched 50+ partnerships with Usman Khawaja and gave his team a great start.

Stuart Broad didn’t manage to take David Warner this time around, but he made sure that he get into his head with some words. The pacer was fielding just near the batter and he made sure that he had something to say. He continuously chattered something and confused him.

Stuart Broad’s chatter surely worked as David Warner after that was back in the hunt. He managed to nick one off from Ollie Robinson and was out for 36 runs off 57 balls.

Stuart Broad has owned David Warner in the Tests as he has removed him for record 15 times in the Tests. The Australian opener averages just 26.46 against him in the Tests. In England, the numbers are even more pleasing for the pacer as he has removed the opening batter 9 times and the average is just 17.55 

David Warner is the batter whom Stuart Broad has dismissed most times in Test cricket. He has removed Micheal Clarke 11 times whereas Ross Taylor, AB de Villiers and Tom Latham have been his victims in the Tests for 10 times each.
