Asia Cup 2018: Ravindra Jadeja Marks a Spectacular Comeback for India
Team India all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja made a spectacular comeback to ODI cricket as he removed dangerous looking Shakib-Al Hasan in the Asia Cup Super Four game against Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma went into this fixture with one forced change. Ravindra Jadeja made his comeback to the side after a gap of one year in place of injured Hardik Pandya. Rohit opted to field first after winning the toss as he mentioned that they are comfortable chasing the target.
The pacers put India on top after removing the openers cheaply with the new ball. Bhuvneshwar Kumar had Liton Das while Jasprit Bumrah removed Nazmul Hossain to reduce Bangladesh to 16 for two. They bowled tight line and lengths as the Tigers batters found it tough to score easy runs.
Since then, two senior campaigners Shakib and Mushfiqur Rahim started to steady the innings. They rotated the strike as Rohit brought his spinners on to break the partnership. When the partnership started to look dangerous, Ravindra Jadeja made his inclusion in the playing XI for this Asia Cup count.
Ravindra Jadeja gets Shakib-Al Hasan
Jadeja had a lucky comeback as he got his first wickets from a delivery which had nothing special written on it. It was just outside off, and it was a no-brainer from Shakib-Al Hasan.
The all-rounder mistimes the sweep horribly and it ends up straight to Dhawan at square leg who takes a sitter of sitters. Meanwhile, this is an eventful comeback from Jadeja in ODI cricket. He bowled a no-ball, dead ball and now a wicket in his first over.
This will certainly have India on top of the Super Four encounter of the Asia Cup.
