Bangladesh was able to confirm their berth in the final of the Asia Cup 2018 with India. The Tigers were able to defeat Pakistan by 37 runs in the sixth match of the Super Four stage, which was a virtual semifinal contest. Meanwhile, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and decided to bat first. However, Bangladesh had the worse possible starts as they lost three quick wickets.
Junaid Khan who was returning to the Pakistan team wreaked havoc as he jolted Bangladesh. A partnership was the need of the hour for Bangladesh when they were tottering for 12-3.

Consequently, the pair of Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Mithun who had rescued Bangladesh against Sri Lanka by putting a 133 runs partnership, repeated their magic again. In fact, the right-handed pair of Rahim and Mithun were able to better their performance as they put together an alliance of 144 runs for the fourth wicket.
However, Rahim was a bit unfortunate as he could not complete his hundred as he felt one run short. On the other hand, Bangladesh lower order could apply the finishing touches to their total as they a scored at almost run-a-ball in their last seven overs. In fact, Bangladesh could not play all their 50 overs as they set a target of 240 runs.
Meanwhile, Junaid Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan as the southpaw pacer scalped four wickets. Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali were able to chip in with two wickets each.
In response, Pakistan got off to a bad start as they lost three early wickets. The Men in Green were stuttering at 18-3 and had their backs against the wall. However, Imam-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik were able to get some sort of the partnership going.

Meanwhile, Imam-ul-Haq and Asif Ali put together an alliance of 71 runs to keep Pakistan’s hopes alive. However, as the pressure grew, they also surrendered.
Mustafizur was the pick of the Bangladesh bowler as he took four wickets in his bowling spell. Thus, Bangladesh will meet India in the final of the Asia Cup 2018 on 28th September.
