India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2018 with an acute back injury, and paceman Deepak Chahar is his replacement.

However, unfortunately, Pandya will not take part in the tournament. It was expected after he was stretchered off the field during the group league encounter against Pakistan on September 19, 2018, at Dubai International Stadium.

Moreover, the incident took place in the 18th over of the Pakistan innings. Additionally, it was the fifth delivery from his fifth over. Pandya after completing the follow through immediately felt his lower back and collapsed to the ground while writhing in pain.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave an update on Pandya.

However, it is also confirmed that Pandya will not be available for India’s next game against Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar has been in good form since the Indian Premier League (IPL). So, he also made his Twenty20 International debut in the third fixture against England.

Well, it was not a good game for him as returned with one for 43 from his ten overs.

Furthermore, Chahar was part of India A squad that toured England where he picked ten wickets in four games. He replaced Jasprit Bumrah who got injured in the England series for the Twenty20 Internationals. Moreover, he was also a part of India A squad in the quadrangular series.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan will miss out the services of their prime pacer in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018. But Chahar might get a debut ODI cap against Bangladesh.

India will wrestle it out against Bangladesh on (September 21), Pakistan on (September 23) and Afghanistan on (September 25) in their top four ties.

On September 19, 2018 (Wednesday), the Indian team registered a clinical win over Pakistan in a one-sided match. Also, India chased down a target of 163 within the 29 overs.
