Asia Cup 2018: Twitter Trolls Ravindra Jadeja For Not Finishing the Game

India staggered in the chase in their last match of the Asia Cup Super Four stage where Ravindra Jadeja failed to help India to win over Afghanistan. However, the all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja became India’s leading wicket-taker in the Asia Cup. The left-arm spinner removed Rahmat Shah for three to achieve the milestone. Jadeja has 18 wickets from 13 matches in Asia Cup and he overtook the legend, Sachin Tendulkar.
However, the fifth game of the Super Four of Asia Cup 2018 between India and Afghanistan match got tied and both the teams shared points. Moreover, Shahzad was looking dominant and scored 124 off just 116 balls to help Afghanistan post a score of 252 runs.
Jadeja could not apply the finishing touches.
Furthermore, while chasing down the target, Indian opening pair, KL Rahul and Ambati Rayudu out together partnership of 110 runs for the first wicket. Later, Karthik and Kedar Yadav tried to finish off the innings. However, Afghanistan bowling attack rattled the Indian batting line up. Later Ravindra Jadeja tried well but couldn’t manage to finish it off.
Moreover, Ravindra Jadeja was recalled into the India side after all-rounder Hardik Pandya was ruled out of the tournament with a back injury in India’s second match of the competition against Pakistan. Meanwhile, it was the 8th time in ODIs that India have tied a match.
Coming back to the match, India needed seven runs to win the match in the last over. The first ball was defended by Ravindra Jadeja and then he smashed a four on the very next ball. However, Jadeja took a single on the next ball and then Khaleel took another single to give back the strike to Jadeja. Consequently, India needed one run off two balls.
However, Ravindra Jadeja gets a bit of a top-edge towards midwicket and Najibullah runs in from the deep to collect it. Thus, the match ended in a tie.
