Rashid Khan is scaling new heights in his career and a lot of credit of the same goes to former Afghanistan coach Inzamam-ul-Haq. The Afghanistan selectors were not giving a chance to the prodigy bowler in the initial stages. However, Inzaman had himself faced Rashid in the nets and wanted him in the Afghanistan side. Thus, former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq played a key part in getting Rashid Khan’s career on the track.

As they say, the rest is history. Rashid has scalped 112 wickets in the 48 ODI matches whereas he has taken 64 wickets in just 35 T20Is. Not only Rashid Khan has scaled great heights in his International career but also he has achieved a lot by playing in the different T20 leagues across the globe.

Rashid Khan also celebrated his 20th birthday in style. The right-hander scored a quickfire 57 off just 32 balls to power Afghanistan’s score to 255 against Bangladesh.

Furthermore, Rashid also did his job with the ball. He breathed down the neck of Bangladesh’s batsmen as he didn’t let them off the hook. Thus, the leg-spinner scalped two wickets and gave away just 13 runs in the nine overs he bowled.

Meanwhile, Inzamam-ul-Haq fought for Rashid Khan with the Afghanistan selectors as he wanted the teenager on board for the Zimbabwe tour. In fact, Afghanistan selectors didn’t want to include Rashid Khan in the squad.

However, Inzamam refused to agree with them and thus backed Rashid to the hilt. Therefore, Inzamam always knew the skills sets of the leg-spinner as he had spotted the early talent in him.

Inzamam-ul-Haq was right in backing Rashid Khan as the leg-spinner took the cricket world by storm. Rashid is one of the best leg-spinners in the limited overs cricket and has achieved great success while playing at the topmost level.
