Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka Ashraf opened up about his conversation with ICC officials over the revenue distribution during the annual meet in South Africa. He revealed that he asked them about how India’s revenue-sharing increased.
In the new revenue model of the ICC Pakistan was subjected to just a share of 5.75% in the ICC revenue distribution whereas, on the other hand, India will receive a share of 38.50%. This didn’t go well with PCB as well as they questioned the revenue distribution.
PCB in the ICC meetings raised this issue and asked for additional information to understand the distribution model better. But that didn’t happen as other members didn’t come out in their support and voted in favour of passing the model. The revenue share of 5.75% is double what they achieved in the last cycle.
Zaka Ashraf revealed that he met BCCI Secretary Jay Shah during the meeting and told them to work together to take international cricket forward. He also talked about how they raised voice-over shares of other teams got deducted.
Speaking to Geo Super, he explained: “I met Jay Shah and other board members, and I insisted that we should take international cricket forward together. I believe we will be better together. This time, our revenue-sharing with the ICC doubled. But they deducted other countries’ shares and increased India’s and we took a stand.”

Zaka Ashraf further went on to say that he asked ICC how they increased India’s share but the governing body repeatedly told him they have shared all the calculations with Najam Sethi.
He explained: “I also gave a deciding vote, I told them you haven’t given us a calculation on how India’s revenue-sharing increased. They said they had given the calculations to Najam Sethi. I told them I’ve checked with him, and he doesn’t have it. But the ICC chairman insisted twice that they had shared all the calculations with Mr. Sethi, and that latter even agreed to all of them.”
