Asia Cup Final Star Liton Das is Keen on Carrying the Momentum

Bangladesh cricketer, Liton Das says he is keen carrying on the momentum he had gained by hitting his maiden hundred in the Asia Cup 2018 final against India.

However, the 23-year old did not have a memorable outing in the Asia Cup until the final. He has been quite irregular in Bangladesh squad. Also, Liton Das’ steady knock helped Bangladesh put up a fight against a superior India in Dubai, the game which they eventually lost by three wickets.

“If we are performing at a big stage and in a big-ticket match, then definitely it is a boost for a player. Scoring against a big team at a big stage is a huge deal,” Liton said.

Moreover, Liton Das said Bangladesh batting was not up to the mark in the final match. He also said he would feel happy if they could have managed to win the game, and put the hands on Asia Cup trophy for the first time.

“Last night, the entire side was at loss of words. This was yet another final which we lost closely. It has happened in the past as well, so it was extremely disappointing for all of us,” he said. “It would have been great if we could leave on a winning note.” Liton Das added.

In addition to that, Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza also told Liton to focus on his batting. Moreover, it could help him to progress in the future and became a potential player.

“All the seniors (including Mashrafe) has told me to focus on my game. All this while, I was not being able to get runs, but now that it has come, I need to keep the momentum going. That’s what the seniors have advised me,” Liton said.

The Asia Cup 2018 final might have been a forgettable outing for Bangladesh cricket fans, but for Liton Das it has once again lit up his chances.
