Premier Australia batter Steve Smith shattered the massive record of great Don Bradman. The batter now has the most Test runs by an overseas batter at The Oval, surpassing the batting great’s tally of 553 runs.

Steve Smith achieved the feat in the ongoing fifth Test of the Ashes 2023 at The Oval in London. The right-hander stepped into the field with bat when Australia lost Marnus Labuschagne for 9 runs off 82 in the first session of the Day 2, which was tough to bat on.

Steve Smith played some blistering drives when he came to bat and was batting at 13 off 20 balls at Lunch on Day 2. The right-hander has been an absolute beast at the Oval in England and also recently smashed a magnificent ton against India at the same venue in the ICC World Test Championship Final.

Steve Smith averages over 93 at the Oval and has scored over 559 runs at this venue in 5 games. He also has smashed 3 centuries and 1 half-century. His average is also one of the highest at the venues and with the way he’s batting in the ongoing game, the numbers are only going to increase.

Steve Smith, who started his career as a leg-spinner, is now one of the best Test batters going around the world cricket. He has scored over 9100 runs at an average of over 58 to go with 32 tons and 37 half-centuries. He also is the fastest batter to complete 9,000 runs in Test cricket, achieving the milestone in 174 innings.
