In a scintillating victory in Adelaide, India bagged numerous records in their kitty. In one of those accolades, there was also a record placed, which broke the 12-year-old stat. Yes, the current crop of Indian bowling department bagged an exceptional number to their name, which is related to the overseas Test performance.

Well, spilling the beans, it is the current crop of the Indian bowlers has bagged 159 wickets in a calendar year in the overseas Tests. Meanwhile, the last best stat for Indian bowlers in overseas Test was in 2006 when they bagged 147 wickets.

By far, at least, on the statistic basis, India has got the best bowling setup this time. They have been in a top-notch form and delivering the goods across the world even when the wicket wasn’t offering much to them.

The latest number shows the tremendous rise of the Indian bowling unit in the overseas Tests. However, they are a couple of Test matches left in this year to make the things look better on the paper than now.

Meanwhile, the last two best performances from the Indian bowlers in overseas Tests came way back in 2006 and 2002. In 2006, they bagged 147 wickets while in 2002, they rattled 145 wickets.

Moreover, the incredible rise in the performance graph of the bowling department helped India to taste success in England, Australia and South Africa. It is yet another record, as no visiting team won a Test match in all those three places in a calendar year.

Without any ray of a doubt, it wouldn’t be possible if the Indian bowlers failed to pick 20 wickets in a match. The likes of Ishant Sharma, Shami, Bumrah, Ashwin and Co, all are performing to the perfection in overseas.
