Australia to take on Afghanistan in their New Schedule

Australia is all set to take on Afghanistan in their new schedule of Future Tour Programme released by the ICC. Thus, Afghanistan will tour Down Under in 2020 to play against Australia on latter’s home soil.
Furthermore, New Zealand and South Africa will return to Melbourne for the Boxing Day Test match.
Thus, the Kiwis will play their first boxing day after a period of all but 30 years. The Blackcaps played their last boxing day Test match in Australia in 1987.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan will play their debut Test match on the Australian soil in the summer of the 2020-21 season. The Afghan team will lock horns with the Aussie side before India’s four-Test match tour of 2020-21.

Moreover, the five-match Test match Ashes series will be preserved under the new Test Championship structure. Consequently, Australia will tour England in 2019 and England will do the same in the 2021-21 season.
