Well, it seems like the head coach of Ravi Shastri is pretty determined to hit it back to the criticisers with a victory in Australia. After securing the success, the proud head coach, who sat in the press conference has spoken with his heart out. He feels that the series win against Australia is as big as the 1983 World Cup.

India comfortably sealed the victory against depleted Australians in the 4-match series. They secured wins in Adelaide and Melbourne to lead in the race to bag the trophy. The continuous rain in the fourth and final Test at Sydney saw them taking the trophy with a margin of 1-2.

It is the truest form of cricket – Ravi Shastri

The head coach of India rated the series victory against Australia above the 1983 world cup and also above the 1985 championship. He feels that Test cricket is the purest form of the game, which demands high skills from the player.

Further, he also showered words of praise on Virat Kohli for his aggressive captaincy, which did the trick. Shastri expressed that he is proud of his captain for becoming the only Indian captain to win a Test series in Australia.

“I will tell you how satisfying it is for me. World Cup 1983, World Championship of Cricket 1985.  This is as big, or even bigger because it is in the truest (Test) format of the game. It’s Test cricket, which is meant to be the toughest,” Shastri said on Monday.

“Past is history, future is a mystery. We have won today after 71 years and I’d like to live in the present. And salute my captain for being the captain of the team that beat Australia for the first time in Australia in a series. I don’t think anyone plays Test cricket with more passion than he does. At least I don’t see any other international captain coming close to him on the field when it comes to showing that passion,” he added.

Well, it seems like Ravi Shastri is pretty much satisfied with the outcome. As Ravi Shastri said, Indian team displayed top-notch skills in Australia to dismantle them in every section of the game.

Actually, it was the question, which was asked to Virat Kohli. However, Ravi Shastri, who was very excited to answer it, took over the mic from Virat Kohli and revealed his inner voice. It shows how badly Shastri wanted this victory.
