After missing the game for quite a period of time, the Baroda All-rounder Hardik Pandya is likely to join Indian National Cricket Team ahead of the Boxing Day Test in Australia. The right-handed all-rounder recovered well from the injury and recently, appeared in a Ranji Trophy game as well.
However, his return has been a fruitful one, as he grabbed a five-wicket haul in the Ranji Trophy 2018-19. It was his third 5-for in the first-class cricket and second for Baroda. It was also his first five-wicket haul after bowling a scintillating spell at Trentbridge in the recent England tour.
Ahead of the match, Hardik Pandya quoted ”I’m very excited. I’m done resting, being away from the game for so long. I wanted to come back smart and in the right way. I’m quite happy that I’m finally fit and ready to play cricket. I’m coming back after three months, I just want to express myself, play my best cricket and enjoy myself.”
Selectors left the choice to Hardik Pandya:
As far as his selection for the ongoing series is concerned, it is learnt from the reports of Indian Express that North Zone selector Sarandeep Singh spoke to Hardik Pandya during the match at the Wankhede Stadium.
He conveyed that selectors have left the choice to the youngster whether he likes to travel to Australia or not. Further, it comes to know that Pandya is very much interested in linking up with the national team ahead of the Boxing Day Test.
Well, it would be interesting to see whether Hardik Pandya takes a flight to Australia or not. It seems like he is in a great nick and hopefully, Indian side will also find their team balance.
