Former legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar has joined ex-Test legends in slamming the ICC’s Perth Pitch rating. The International Cricket Council had rated the Perth pitch as average. However, the former players had criticised the rating received by the governing body. The Master Blaster believes that such pitches are crucial to revive the red ball version.
Tendulkar believes the game needs more pitches like the Perth track. The former talisman said the bowlers and batsmen’s skills are truly tested on such kind of tough pitches.

It was a perfect contest between bat and ball.
Thus, the pitch was not at all average. Furthermore, former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson and former England skipper Michael Vaughan had also lashed out at the rating received by the ICC.
The Perth track had tested the skills of all the players and all of them had to play at their toes. The players were fighting for an inch and it was a great contest between bat and ball, which matters the most in the game.

Mitchell Johnson had taken to Twitter to share his disappointment. Johnson wrote, “Nothing wrong with it. It was exciting to watch a contest between bat and ball for a change and not these dull flat tracks being served up constantly. I’d actually be interested in knowing what a good pitch is? Hope for another exciting test at the MCG ?

Furthermore, Michael Vaughan also believed that Pitch had given a fine contest. Vaughan wrote, “And they wonder why Test Match cricket is struggling .. Was a tremendously exciting pitch which had a bit for everyone .. Should be more like this IMO”.

Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Perth pitch. Tendulkar posted read as, “Pitches play a crucial role, especially in Test cricket. In order to revive Test cricket and generate excitement, we need to provide more pitches like the one at Perth, where the skills of batsmen and bowlers are truly TESTed. This pitch was by no means “Average”.
