India’s most experienced seamer Ishant Sharma was able to provide the team much-needed start on the final day of the first Test match. Ishant was right on the money with his bouncer as he got the better off Travis Head with a snorter. Head could not get into a good position and was caught in a muddle as Ajinkya Rahane took a simple catch. Thus, India was able to get off to an ideal start. Consequently, the visitors need another five wickets to win the Adelaide Test.

Ishant Sharma bowled with fire and with his tail up. Meanwhile, Shaun Marsh is going good resistance as the southpaw batsman scored his fifty and is giving a tough fight to the Indians.

On the other hand, Travis Head was a crucial wicket for tourists. Head had top-scored for Australia in the first innings as the left-hander had scored 72 runs. The southpaw had batted with resilience in the first dig.

Meanwhile, India is in a commanding position as they need another five wickets for the victory. Ishant Sharma has scalped one wicket whereas Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami have bagged two wickets each.

Earlier on Day four, Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara had scored 70 and 71 runs respectively to get India in a dominating position. Rahane scored his 16th Test fifty whereas Pujara completed his 20th half-century in the red ball version. However, the Indian tail gave up without any fight as the tourists lost the last five wickets for 25 runs.

On the other hand, Nathan Lyon was the pick of the Australian bowlers as he scalped six wickets in the Indian innings.
