India’s ever-rising fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was finally rewarded for pitching the ball up to Mitchell Starc. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli decided to start the proceedings with Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah after rain delayed the start on Day three by 45 minutes. Both of the bowlers were a tad short in their length. However, Bumrah finally got it right as Starc went for a big shot through the off-side.

Starc could only manage an outside edge and Rishabh Pant did the rest. Consequently, Bumrah bagged his third wicket of the innings. However, rain once again made its appearance as the players had to walk back after the fall of the wicket. Thus, Australia is currently at 204-8 and trails by 44 runs.

The hosts have added 13 runs and lost one wicket on the morning of Day three. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah could not hit the right length in his opening spell of Day two. However, Bumrah has shown that he is a quick learner and bounced back in style as he scalped two wickets in his second spell.

Meanwhile, runs came in a trickle for Australia as their batsmen adopted a cautious approach. Furthermore, they were not let off the hook by the Indian bowlers, who were right on the money with their line and length. Travis Head has been the pick of the Australian batsmen as the southpaw batted with resistance.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah have bagged three wickets each whereas Ishant Sharma has scalped two wickets to his name. However, Mohammed Shami is still wicketless and would be determined to have himself in the wickets column.

Here is Mitchell Starc dismissal:
