Babar Azam Is Classy Player, Pleased To Get Him Out: Stuart Broad

Babar Azam is undoubtedly a big wicket for England and he has failed to convert his starts in both the Tests. After being dismissed on 69 runs in the first Test, Stuart Broad sent Babar Azam packing for 47 runs in the ongoing match. The senior England fast bowler was also mighty pleased on dismissing Babar Azam and let his emotions known.

Broad, who recently achieved his 500 Test wickets milestone, said that Babar Azam is a classy player and his shots are a testament of the same. He also added that England knew that Azam would be a big wicket, thus, he was happy to get him out.

“Babar Azam is a really classy player which you can see by some of the shots he played. We knew he would be a big wicket and I was pleased to get him out,” Stuart Broad told BBC.

Babar Azam has shouldered the burden of scoring runs for Pakistan across formats with ease. It is hence that he has been compared with some of the modern day greats. In fact, cricket pundits have also said that Babar Azam deserves a place in the Fab four, ahead of England captain Joe Root in the current scenario.

Azam is an elegant batsman and has got every shot possible in the text book. In fact, his level headed attitude makes him one of the most stylish Pakistan batsman of all-time. Azam has featured in more than 50 Test innings but has managed to score only five centuries. He has an average of over 44 in the longest format.
