Babar Azam And Virat Kohli Are 'Classic Players', Will Break Many Records: Shoaib Akhtar

Shoaib Akhtar used to be right on the money with his fast bowling skills now he is grabbing headlines with the statements he makes, albeit making controversies. Akhtar has now said both Babar Azam and Virat Kohli are classic players, claiming, they will break ‘many world records’.

Though the fact holds true for India captain Virat Kohli as he has made run-scoring look easy and was the fastest to 11,000 ODI runs, Babar Azam has still plenty to prove. Azam has shouldered the burden of scoring runs for Pakistan across format with ease. As a result, he is compared with the likes of one of the finest cricketers of the generation Virat Kohli. His success in international cricket has bore fruits for him with his board further appointing him as the captain of the limited-overs side.

Shoaib Akhtar however feels comparing them is not right as Babar Azam plays fewer number of ODIs in comparison to Virat Kohli. Akhtar feel both the players are committed to their game and go on to break a lot of world records.

“Both Virat Kohli and Babar Azam are classic players, but it’s not right to compare them as Pakistan plays a fewer number of Tests and ODIs compared to India,” Shoaib Akhtar said.

“Their commitment makes me believe that they both will break many world records in future. But, it’s not fair to compare them,” he added.

Babar Azam has scored at an average of 45 in the longest format and over 50 in the limited-overs, which says a lot about his batting. He will be next seen in action in Pakistan’s tour to England.
