The discarded Australian cricketer Steven Smith, who is plying his trade for Comilla Victorians set to miss a couple games due to injury. Steven Smith sustained Elbow injury, for which, he needs to travel back home for the MRI scans. The flamboyant batsman will miss the next couple of games for Victorians.
Perhaps, it would be the blessing in disguise for Victorians, as he failed to show his charisma in the tournament. Steven Smith scored just 16 runs in the tournament so far and also looked rusty while playing on Bangladesh pitches.
Steven Smith will have MRI scans:
The 29-year-old cricketer had an earlier elbow injury which has flared up in the last couple of days, making him miss the two games. The cricketer will undergo an MRI scan and will inform the franchise about his medical status.

“He is quite positive about returning, possibly during the Sylhet phase of the competition,” Victorians media manager Sohanuzzaman Khan told ESPNcricinfo. “He will undergo an MRI in Australia, which isn’t available in Bangladesh, and will inform us about it.”
Smith led the Victorians to one win in the two outings. So far, he made 16 and 0 in his two innings against Sylhet Sixers and Rangpur Riders. The former Australia captain’s participation in the BPL made news after the organisers had to change the drafting rules to accommodate him.

Currently, Comilla Victorians are placed in the bottom half of the table. The next couple of games are pretty important for them to make a progress in the tournament. In absence of Smith, Imrul Kayes will be leading the side.
However, it would be interesting to see whether Steven Smith would make a return to Bangladesh Premier League 2019 or not. Steven Smith is currently serving the 12-month ban, which will be finished in March.
The Australian National Team is badly missing the services of Steven Smith, across the formats. They recently lost a Test series against India for the first time in the cricketing history. The absence of Steven Smith has been one of the major factors for Australia, who scored mammoth tallies against India.
