The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced T20I squad for the Ireland tour. The Indian team will play two T20I against Ireland. Both the matches are set to be played at Dublin. The first T20I is going to be played on June 27 whereas the second and final T20I will be played on June 29.

The Indian team will play against Ireland before the England tour. This is going to be the first time that the Indian team will be touring Ireland for a T20I series.

Men in Blue is currently at the third place in the T20I rankings. Thus, they would like to move up in the ladder. Meanwhile, the T20I squad is announced keeping in mind the player’s performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League.

The last time India had tour was back in 2007. India had played a one-off One-Dayer under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid. The visitors had won that match by nine wickets.

Sunrisers speedster Siddharth Kaul who has impressed in the ongoing IPL has also made the cut into the 15-man squad. Washington Sundar who has underfired thus far in the IPL also finds his place on the Ireland tour.

Mohammed Shami has missed out on the T20I squad. However, Manish Pandey who isn’t in the best of forms is able to retain his place in the Indian squad. Suresh Raina is also able to hold on his T20I spot in the Indian team for Ireland tour.
