India could not have started the proceedings with the ball better, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading, after being asked to do so by South Africa skipper Faf du Plessis in the ongoing first Test in Cape Town.

India skipper Virat Kohli had made it clear that he would have bowled anyway after losing the toss and Bhuvneshwar Kumar did not take long to justify his skipper’s comments. On the very third ball of the match, the right-arm pacer had Dean Elgar caught behind the wicket to give the visitors a dream start. And the 27-year old was not done yet. Just when South Africa were looking to consolidate their innings after losing their star opener, Bhuvneshwar accounted for Aiden Markram to leave them reeling at 7 for 2.

After bowling few just outside the off stump, the India pace spearhead bowled one that nipped in sharply and caught the Proteas opener by surprise. The right-handed batsman was shuffling across to defend, and by the time he could bring the bat in, the ball had already pinged the pad. The Indian fielders went up in unison, and the umpire did not hesitate in raising his finger after taking his time.

Here is a clip of that wicket:
