Sydney Sixers claimed a record-margin victory against Melbourne Renegades on Sunday (13th December) night during the sixth match of the BBL 10 at Bellerive Oval (Hobart).

After Renegades sent Sixers to bat first, the first innings total was 205/4 in 20 overs. In reply, Renegades were bundled out for just 60 runs in 10.4 overs.

Melbourne Renegades – 2nd lowest BBL total, none of their batsman managed to score 15 runs, four ducks

i) Melbourne Renegades were bundled out for just 60 runs. It was the second lowest completed total in BBL history. The lowest is 57 (12.4 overs) by Melbourne Renegades against Melbourne Stars (at Melbourne, Docklands on 3rd January 2015).

ii) All the 11 Melbourne Renegades batsmen failed to score at least 15 runs. In BBL history, it was the only third time when all the 11 batsmen failed to score at least 15 runs in an innings. The other two times in this list are Melbourne Renegades against Melbourne Stars (at Melbourne, Docklands on 3rd January 2015) and Sydney Sixers against Melbourne Stars (at Melbourne on 10th February 2019).

iii) Four Renegades batsmen scored ducks during the chasing. It was the sixth time in BBL history when at least four batsmen scored ducks in an innings. The record is five ducks in an innings which happened only once during the BBL history as 5 Brisbane Heat batsmen scored ducks against Melbourne Renegades at Melbourne (Docklands) on 13th January 2015.

i) Sixers scored 205/4 (20 overs) in the first innings. It was their first 200+ total as their previous highest total was 191/7 (19.4 overs) against Brisbane Heat at Brisbane on 3rd January 2017.

ii) Sixers won the match by 145 runs. It is the largest victory margin (by runs) in the BBL history. The previous record was winning by 112 runs for Melbourne Stars against Melbourne Renegades at Melbourne (Docklands) on 3rd January 2015.

i) Opener and wicket-keeper batsman Josh Philippe scored 95 runs. It is the highest individual score for a Sydney Sixers batsman. Philippe was also the previous record holder in this list with 86* against Hobart Hurricanes at Sydney on 23rd January 2019.

Ben Dwarshuis – one of the best bowling figures for the team

i) The left-arm pacer Ben Dwarshuis had the bowling figures of 2.4-0-13-4.

  • It is the best bowling figures for Sydney Sixers as a left-arm bowler. The previous record was 4-0-14-4 by the left-arm pacer Daniel Sams against Sydney Thunder at Sydney on 19th December 2017.
  • It was the fourth best bowling figures for Sixers.
