Ahead of the start of the Test series against South Africa, Virat Kohli has been dared by former India captain, Bishan Singh Bedi, to win the series:
“(PV) Sindhu has achieved a lot over the years and I dare Virat Kohli would be struggling. She has been competing with the best of the world, but Kohli will now be competition with the best of world in South Africa. The tour of South Africa will be a test for Kohli,” Bedi said at re-launch of Sportstar magazine.”
The Indian team will play a three-match Test series against South Africa. Never in the history, an Indian captain has been able to win a Test series against South Africa in South Africa. It will be an ardent test for the Virat Kohli led-team, and it will not be an easy task for the Indian team to turn the tables this time around.

One of the major concerns for the side will be to tackle with the bowlers of South Africa, who are giant personalities, especially in their backyard. The likes of Morne Morkel, Kagiso Rabada and others will test Indian batsmen.
On previous foreign tours as well, apart from West Indies, the batsmen haven’t done well. Though in past three years, team India has played in Asian conditions and in West Indies which must have given confidence to the side.
Should Virat Kohli-led side defeat, South Africa, Kohli will go down as one of the best captains while if he is not able to turn the tables, then he will join other former captains on the list.
The India tour of South Africa starts on January 5 with the first Test to be played at Newlands in Cape Town. A total of three Tests, six ODIs and three T20Is will be played in the series lasting for around 50 days. The members of the team have reached the country and will start practising for the series soon.
