Bollywood Stars To Grace The Bangladesh Premier League Opening Ceremony

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are all set to host an extravagant opening ceremony for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The tournament which will run from December 8 will witness many Bollywood stars gracing the centre stage on the opening day.

Meanwhile, as per reports, there will be no franchise-based teams in the BPL this time around. BCB will host this year’s tournament to commemorate the birth anniversary of the father of Bengali nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

As a result, the host is trying to bring in big names from India’s film industry to make it a grand event. The likes of Katrina Kaif, Arijit Singh, John Abraham are on the radar of the organising committee. However, their participation solely depends on the availability of the stars.

Asked about the opening ceremony of this special edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, BPL’s Governing Council Chairman Sheikh Sohail said that they are trying to bring in the big stars to celebrate the father of the nation.

“This year’s event will feature several Indian entertainment superstars. They are- Katrina Kaif, one of the highest-paid actresses in Bollywood, Arijit Singh, one of the famous musicians of the subcontinent, Bollywood superstar John Abraham and present famous Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff. Among them, those who give time will be here. The final decision on this will be informed after communicating to those who can be available,” Sheikh said.

Meanwhile, this time around BCB will manage and host all the teams featuring in the BPL. They are likely to appoint one director for each team to manage the entire squad.
