BPL 2017 Final: Chris Gayle Shatters T20 Records on His Way To a 69-Ball 146

West Indies swashbuckling opening batsman Chris Gayle has got his name in the record books as he scored 146 off 69 balls. However, the highlight of the show was the 18 sixes in the innings which is now a new World record overtaking his record of 17 sixes when he scored 175 for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League.

He achieved the feat while playing in the final of the Bangladesh Premier League for Rangpur Riders against Dhaka Dynamites in Dhaka. His innings of 146 took the team total to 206/1 in 20 overs. With this century Gayle has now scored 20 T20 centuries which is also a T20 World record. Gayle plays in almost all the leagues all over the world and has become a T20 specialist now. He has now completed 11,000 runs in a T20 format which is a World record in the shortest format.

Known as the six-hitting machine, Gayle has now hit 100 sixes in T20 format, the second best in the list has not even hit 50 sixes. Gayle has played in a lot of T20 finals, but this score of 146 is the highest score in a T20 final.

He has opened with a lot of openers and has had many batting partners, but his partnership of 201 with the Brendan McCullum in the match is the highest ever in a T20 final.
