Zimbabwean star batsman Brendan Taylor on Tuesday (June 26) has lashed out at his national team selector, Walter Chawaguta.

The Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) selector Chawaguta had made a statement that the board hasn’t drop wicketkeeper-batsman Taylor, Graeme Cremer, Craig Ervine, Sean Williams and Sikandar Raza.

However, all these players didn’t make themselves available for the selection.

Meanwhile, batting all-rounder Sikander Raza will be plying on his trade in the upcoming Global T20 Canada league.

Furthermore, all the other four players have boycotted the upcoming series against Pakistan and Australia because they haven’t received their payment from the Board.

Owing to a sorry state of affairs, the salary issues between ZC and its players are perennial.

In fact, these players are yet to receive their salaries for the last three months. In fact, the premium players also threatened their board about boycotting the upcoming series.

“Let me set the record straight: Brendan Taylor, Graeme Cremer, Craig Ervine, Sean Williams and Sikandar Raza were not overlooked. But they did not avail themselves for selection,” convener of selectors Walter Chawaguta said in press conference at Harare.

Meanwhile, Taylor commented on this post shared by the Zimbabwe Cricket Twitter handle.

Here is the latest conversation.

Taylor commented, “Stop talking.?I made it very clear to you”.

And Taylor’s reply:

Meanwhile, it is well known that the Zimbabwe cricketers have been facing salary issues for a long time. In fact, Brendan Taylor started playing County Cricket in order to make a living for himself.

However, he made a comeback recently to the national side of Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe will face Pakistan and Australia in a T20I tri-series from July 1. After the completion of T20I series, Zimbabwe will square off with Pakistan in a five-match ODI series from July 13.

Thus, it is going to be a difficult road ahead for the Zimbabwe cricket without its pivotal players.
