The first day of the four-day practice game between India and CA XI got washed out by rain in Sydney (SCG). However, the torrential rain and thunderstorm didn’t even allow the toss to take place which was scheduled to happen at 9.30 am local time.

Meanwhile, the skies briefly cleared in the afternoon, and the umpires went on confirming that there would be a toss at 3.30 pm local time. They had aimed to start the game at 4 pm, but soon after the announcement, the rain returned. However, in Sydney, the weather forecast for the second day isn’t promising either.
Meanwhile, it is the only practice game for India ahead of the first Test against Australia. Meanwhile, the first Test will start from December 6 in Adelaide.
As confirmed earlier, it would be a first-class fixture. India may use as many of their squad members as they want. However, they now have to be more creative to make the most of the remaining time of the match. Wednesday’s play had been added at the request of the BCCI after the game initially got scheduled for a three-day encounter, with the board hoping to find some time for a second warm-up match.
Day two under rain threat as well
Furthermore, India has become the most touring side these days. They had an unfortunate encounter previously in South Africa and later in England. They had lost the series 2-1 and 4-1, respectively.
