Prithvi Shaw has only played two Tests so far in his career and is already getting treated like a superstar in Australia. Not surprisingly, a vast number of fans arrived at the Sydney Cricket Ground to take a selfie with the youngster.
The 18-year-old scored 66 runs from 69 deliveries on the second day of the four-day practice game against Cricket Australia XI. He was highly obliged to get the attention from the fans.
Meanwhile, on day two, CA XI had won the toss and put India to bat first. Virat Kohli’s men had opened the innings with Prithvi Shaw and KL Rahul. Though Rahul failed to get going, Shaw along with four other batsmen hit respective fifties.
Moreover, Prithvi Shaw, who partnered with KL Rahul hit his first fifty on the Australian soil. Though Shaw didn’t get any support from KL at the other end, Pujara’s stay at the pitch helped him free his arms. The youngster had played only 17 first-class matches in his career. He has scored 1767 first-class runs at an average of 60.93 and a strike-rate of 78.81.
Furthermore, the Mumbai batsman started his Test career with a century against Windies in October
India started well but later they lost their last five wickets adding just 54 runs on the board. Though Prithvi Shaw couldn’t make it a three-digit score but still had played some excellent cricket in the Australian soil for the first time. Though he seemed disappointed with the fall of his wicket, Shaw has put his case for selection for the first Test at the Adelaide Oval.
Prithvi Shaw thanked everyone for their extreme support and love. He asked for more blessings as he can do something better in the upcoming Test series.
“Thankyou everyone for your support , for your love, blessings and the way you guys love Indian Team”
