With Suresh Raina pulling out of Indian Premier League (2020), Chennai Super Kings have not only lost one of their batting mainstays but also one of the most important member of the leadership group. The southpaw sensationally returned to India from UAE last week citing personal reasons.

The franchise later confirmed that Raina has decided to pull out of the entire competition. The left-handed batsman is the vice-captain of the team and it would be interesting to see who replaces him at that position. Well, things became a bit clear on Wednesday when one fan took to Twitter to ask the same question to Chennai Super Kings.

The fan asked the three-time champions: “Leo who is out Vice Captain Now?”

In reply, Chennai Super Kings came with a brilliant reply as they made it clear the franchise is not too worried with the surprising departure of their vice-captain from UAE.

“Why fear when we have a ‘wise captain’?” the franchise said in their social media post, while replying to the question.

With Raina out of the competition, skipper MS Dhoni’s task has definitely increased but the legendary wicketkeeper-batsman knows how to excel in tough situations. Raina has been an integral part of the team since the inaugural season of the IPL in 2008. He is the all-time leading run-scorer for the franchise.

Meanwhile, Suresh Raina, on Wednesday, said he has not ruled out the chances of returning to the UAE and joining the CSK camp while maintaining that he is working out during his quarantine in India. He also denied rumours of rift in the CSK camp and conceded the mandatory isolation period and the Covid-19 concerns did play in his mind.

“I’ve been training even while quarantining here. You never know you might see me in the camp there again,” Raina had told Cricbuzz.
