Officially, Chennai Super Kings have revealed the names of five players, who are going into the auctions for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The England wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings was released alongside his compatriot Dawid Willey to vacate spaces in the foreign quota of the team.
As far as the Indian players are concerned, Chennai Super Kings left out Chaitanya Bishnoi, Dhruv Shorey and the fast bowler Mohit Sharma. It is surprising to see Chennai leaving out a player like Sam Billings, who played memorable knocks for the team. Perhaps, the franchise wants to get him for a low budget.
Sam Billings, Dawid Willey to make way:
Apart from that, Chennai Super Kings already got wicket-keepers in the form of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and the young Jagadeesan. On the other hand, Dhruv Shorey hardly got any chances to show his calibre for the team. The ideal reason behind his exclusion would be to have enough vacancies during the auctions.

In the absence of Lungi Ngidi, the bowling department looked pretty poor apart from Deepak Chahar. In order to have a new bowler in the setup, they have left out Mohit Sharma, who entered into the side from Kings XI Punjab. Sharma has been struggling with injuries in recent times which played a role behind his exclusion from Chennai. Dawid Willey has also lost his form and would give a foreign slot for the team.
Finally, Chaitanya Bishnoi. It would be hard for him to take this. However, his good performances in domestic trophy could fetch him a different franchise in IPL 2020. It can be a blessing in disguise for the young cricketer, as he is unlikely to get an opportunity in playing XI even if he is part of CSK in the presence of star performers.
