The No. 1 test in the world, Team India is all set to play yet another home Test against debutants Afghanistan starting Thursday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

It will be a historic Test as far as Afghanistan is concerned. Their hard work has finally paid off and they will be playing their maiden Test in a day’s time.

The Afghans have been quite impressive in the shorter formats of the game. In the recently concluded three-match Twenty20 International series against Bangladesh.

They were quite spectacular and made a clean sweep with a 3-0 series win.

Hence, India won’t be taking them lightly under any stress of imagination. The likes of Rashid Khan and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman has impressed everyone during the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL).

Rashid, in particular, was quite spectacular and finished the tournament with 21 scalps behind his name. Even in the series against Bangladesh, he was the pick of the Afghan bowlers by bagging eight wickets.

The 19-year-old Rashid bagged three wickets in the first clash while four in the second encounter. He also bowled a match-winning final over in the final clash and defended just nine runs.

Hence, India will be a tad bit worried about preparing a turning track. India being the top team should steamroll their oppositions. But if India falters, Afghanistan will seize on the opportunity.

The mainstay of the Team India middle-order Cheteshwar Pujara expressed his happiness to be back playing on the Indian grounds.

Pujara will look to score enough runs during the iconic Test which will keep him in good shape ahead of the tour of England.

Moreover, it is still a month and a half away and Pujara has enough time to get back in to form.

Taking to his Twitter handle he shared a video of his practice session. He was seen batting in the nets and executed some tremendous shots to get going.

Pujara looked in solid touch during the nest which will be ominous signs for Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Indian will be without the services of Virat Kohli, who is still nursing a neck injury. So, Ajinkya Rahane will lead the team in his absence.
