Chris Gayle has an important part of the KXIP franchise and has notched up some key knocks with his opening partner KL Rahul. Gayle is one of the finest batsman in the shortest format of the game and can rake up runs with ease. KXIP captain KL Rahul said that he has great camaraderie with Gayle and he is great to have in the team.
Gayle, who recently tested negative for Covid-19 and is set to join the franchise, will now be a core part of the KXIP franchise. KL Rahul said that with the kind of experience he has, he can win a match on his own.
“We at Kings XI Punjab have had a great experience with Chris and me luckily, I have played with him for years now, we have shared great friendship, we have had some partnerships in the middle, he is a great guy to have in the team,” Rahul said in a video posted on the official website of the IPL.
“He will be a part of our core group, with the kind of experience he has, he will be somebody who will win matches for us,” he added.
Gayle is one of the cleanest hitters off the ball and when his bat does the talking he is hard to be stopped. Veteran West Indies batsman Gayle has established himself as a powerful striker of the ball not only for his national team but also in franchise leagues across the world. Today, there is hardly any league left, where Chris Gayle has not made his presence felt.
Gayle will be next seen in action in the IPL 2020. He has been one of the integral member of the KXIP franchise over the years. In the previous edition of the IPL, he notched up 490 runs in 13 games at an average of 40.83 and a strike rate of 153.60, and is set to continue opening with the new captain KL Rahul.
