Speaking of his memorable moments, Gayle reminisced about days of yore when he first picked up the bat. He added that his older brothers playing the game and then his participation has been the best memory for him.

Moreover, it was followed by the exposure in school and then the career to the flight.

”My first memories, to be honest, it was actually when my all the older brother played in the street. As a kid, I watched them from the sidelines and one day, I started playing with them on the street. And then, I got to go to the school and got the more exposure there as well. That is how it started for me. From then, I never looked back,” ICC quoted Gayle as saying.

Since then, Gayle took International cricket by a storm. He entertained the crowd with his brutal hitting and helped Windies clinch many fruitful victories. He was also the part of Windies’ World Cup squad that won two T20I championships.

Revealing the secret, Chris Gayle added that he has always been a sweet timer of the ball. He went on to add saying that once the batsman gets an exposure, you start hitting the gym and learn few techniques as well.

”I am a sweet timer of the ball, to be honest. Yes, as a youngster, you still hit a lot of boundaries. More fours and sixes. Then, you start going to the gym and actually, you will blend the timing with strength and eventually, you will just become an explosive hitter of the ball. And then, go on from there,” Gayle concluded.

All in all, Gayle has carved a niche in the world cricket and sat at the pinnacle in most of the batsmen’s list. He is still serving his country in the limited-overs format of the game.
