Chris Gayle's Mother Dies of Suspected Heart Attack

Chris Gayle, the swashbuckling Windies opener, who often wears a smile on his face, recently suffered a personal blow. On Wednesday morning, Gayle lost his beloved mother, reportedly of a heart attack.

Shortly after news broke, Cricket West Indies President Dave Cameron offered a message of sympathy on behalf of the Windies Board.

On behalf of CWI @windiescricket we would like to send condolences to @henrygayle, Dulla, Michelle, Lyndon and Vanclive on the passing of their mom and also to Mr. Gayle and the rest of the Gayle family and friends,” Cameron posted Wednesday morning.

The Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA), through a Facebook post, also expressed condolences to Chris Gayle’s family.

The Jamaica Cricket Association is today sending its deepest, heartfelt condolence to Christopher Gayle as he mourns the passing of his mother. Our prayers are with you Chris and the entire family. We hope that the happy memories you shared over the years will be a tower of strength,” said the statement from the JCA.

In the meantime, Chris Gayle also took some time out and expressed his gratitude for the messages he has got ever since his mother passed away.

Meanwhile, Chris Gayle recently pulled himself out of the ODI series against India. However, he featured for Balkh Legends in the inaugural edition of the Afghanistan Premier League (APL). He will now to represent Jozi Stars in the Mzansi Super League in South Africa, which commences on November 16.
