Chris Lynn Hopeful of Making a National Comeback in the Series Against New Zealand and England

Australian swashbuckling batsman Chris Lynn is back to his six hitting best, and one of the unlucky cars outside the University of Queensland was there to prove it. The power hitter smashed a sensational 83 of a mere 28 deliveries and 37 from 22 deliveries in a practice match for the Brisbane Heat against an All Stars Brisbane team at the University of Queensland on Wednesday.
Following his return from a calf injury, Lynn sent the ball flying over the WEP Harris Oval boundary on several occasions. The ball came crushing on the unsuspecting mirror of the car and said he was ready to fire all cylinders in Saturdays final of the Big Bash League at the Gaba in Brisbane.
“I was quite nervous to be honest. I found a couple in the middle (of the bat). I was probably more nervous fielding but I got through it all right.I’m saying I’m good (to play). There are medical staff that have got to approve it but I’m pretty confident. I’m pretty confident now I can get through and for the Aussie T20 series as well,” Lynn said.
He desperately wants to play against the Melbourne Renegades on Saturday and courtesy his innings he showed that he was fit enough to be part of the Australian team in the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand and England. Lynn’s highest score for Australia in 5 international T20’S is just 33 not out and is hopeful of donning the national colours for the series against New Zealand and England.
“I still believe I’ve got to put the runs on the board when I get there. There is no good playing for Australia underdone, underprepared and not 100 percent. I’ve got a couple more innings under my belt now. They have shown faith in me by selecting me again, so hopefully I can reward them.
“If I’m brutally honest, I probably wasn’t ready to play one-day cricket. It might have been a blessing in disguise coming back from that long-term injury (shoulder reconstruction) that I did miss one or two weeks.”
Meanwhile, it must be noted that the Brisbane Heats need a miracle to make the BBL semi-finals. They must convincingly beat the Renegades and must boast of a high net run rate to harbour hopes of making the semi-finals.
“All we can control is our game. It might come down to run rate. We have the last game so we will know what we have to do. We have to adapt to whatever scenario is in front of us.”
