Coronavirus: PCB Reveals Results Of Test On Players

The novel coronavirus pandemic has brought the world to a standstill and cricket events are a part of it. Most series are forced to be rescheduled with the Pakistan Super League (PSL) called off and Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 deferred from its original date of commencement.
Amid all this, as a precautionary measure, the PCB has conducted test on all its players, support staffs, match officials and PSL team owners.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief executive Wasim Khan said it was important for all the players to undergo the test for credibility and integrity.
“It was absolutely critical for the integrity and credibility of the Pakistan Super League and the Pakistan Cricket Board that all players, support personnel, broadcasters and match officials, those who had decided to stay back till the end of the tournament, tested negative for COVID-19,” PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said.

In a major relief, all the players participating in the PSL have been tested negative for coronavirus and have been advised to go home and stay with their families.
The PCB, however, said that it will continue to take precautionary measures to withstand the disease and safeguard its players.
“In this background, the PCB is pleased with the outcome of the results and happy that all these players and officials have rejoined their families without any health and safety doubts or concerns. The PCB will continue to put in place precautionary measures to better safeguard the health of its employees.
“I urge cricket fans and followers to exercise absolute caution and value their as well as others’ wellbeing. They can overcome this pandemic by maintaining hygiene, avoiding close physical contact like handshaking and hugs, staying away from gatherings, avoiding close contact when anyone who is experiencing cough and fever, and spreading awareness about safety measures.”
