More often than not, the ongoing CPL 2018 is keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. Each franchise is coming with the new set of plans and executing it to perfection to bag those crucial points. Meanwhile, one of the star performers, Shoaib Malik has left the tournament for the national commitment.

The skipper of Guyana Amazon Warriors, Shoaib Malik is set to join the Pakistan camp. With the prestigious Asia Cup 2018 on its way, the preparations are set to begin in full swing.

Chris Green extends his contract to replace Shoaib Malik

Meanwhile, the busy schedule of Shoaib Malik has helped Chris Green to showcase his skills for more period. Probably, all the things had fallen in place for Chris Green this season.

Initially, he was called in as a cover for Cameron Delport who is unavailable for the initial phase of the CPL 2018. Chris Green showed his skills and was part of a couple of matches.

Probably, all those perks from Chris Green made Guyana Amazon Warriors to ask him to stay till the end of the tournament. They named Chris as the replacement for Shoaib Malik for the remaining part of CPL 2018.

So far in the tournament, the all-rounder who bowls off-spin has bagged five scalps at an economy rate of just 6.5. He also scored a crucial unbeaten 25 against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots recently.

Guyana Amazon Warriors’ progress

So far, Guyana Amazon Warriors have done decent enough in CPL 2018. They are currently placed at 4th on the points table with three wins in five games equalling 3rd placed St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Despite being on 4th, Guyana Amazon has got every chance to push for a place in the playoffs. Currently, Trinbago Knight Riders are leading the chart while Jamaica Tallawahs are sitting at the second spot.
