Updated - 04 Feb 2019, 05:10 PM
2018 witnessed some riveting ODI matches and equally brilliant impressive performances. Virat Kohli scoring a pile of runs in South Africa while leading India to historic series win, Fakhar Zaman’s run feast against Zimbabwe, Mohammad Shahzad’s exhilarating ton against India in the Asia Cup, Kuldeep Yadav’s 6 for 25 against England are some of the most notable performances of the year which will now end in a few hours.
The year was also witness to a number of memorable performances. The year began with New Zealand whitewashing reigning Champions Trophy-holders Pakistan in a five-match series. Few days later, South Africa hosted India in a six-match ODI series. And that series also panned out in an unexpected manner. India thoroughly dominated the contest to win the series 5-1. As the year progressed, we saw some absolute gems in the 50-over format. Scotland beating world number England for the first time in their history, Afghanistan nearly pulling off a stunning win over India, the thrilling Asia Cup final, England slamming a record 481 against Australia were some of the most memorable games of the year.
With the year now all set to come to an end, the cricketing world is busy recalling those fond moments. And Cricket Australia also did the same as it recalled the games and performances before revealing the ODI team of the Year. The star-studded team has four players from India, three from England and one each from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Windies
