Team India pacer Jasprit Bumrah finished off the tail with a peach of a delivery on day four of the warm-up game against Cricket Australia XI at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Meanwhile, the hosts took a mammoth 186 runs lead in the first innings giving early signs that it will not be easy for the Indian bowlers. CA XI posted 544 runs in reply to India’s 358 giving a tough time to the bowlers. The lower-order contributed significantly as the likes of Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Ravichandran Ashwin found it tough to finish off the tail.
However, in reply, KL Rahul and Murali Vijay provided India with a good start in the second essay reducing India’s worries. They added more than fifty runs for the opening wickets with both batters looking in good touch.
Previously, Jasprit Bumrah finished off the proceedings for India with a brilliant delivery which cleaned up Jackson Coleman. However, prior to that, he played a handy knock of 36 runs off 65 deliveries. It was a stunning yorker from the Bumrah which ripped through Coleman’s stumps as he tried to steer it to the point region.
This will provide much-needed confidence to the young pacer as he embarks on his first Test series in Australia.
